Project 2 - Treasure Chest part 1- Eyeshadow

I first modeled a makeup box of mine, because it opens like a treasure chest and has treasure in it, but then realized it is in no way a treasure chest.

Despite this, modeling this box helped prepare me for modeling my treasure chest.

On this first model I used the multi-cut in combination with the extrude tool to create the mirror, edges and eyelash drawer.

I then applied the same tools to the bottom of the box to create the stand. I grouped the drawer and its handle together so that it opens out like a real drawer.

This served as good practice for my final chest
Part 2- Real Chest

The treasure chest I modeled is the Treasure Chest of Cortes from Pirates of the Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl. I first designed the main chest box by using the modeling tool kit to edit the box into having a wide base, sloped sides, empty chest chamber and wide top. I then applied the same techniques to another square box to make the lid.

I then used the multi cut tool to design the carving patterns for the chest. After I designed the patterns I used the extrude tool to give the patterns more dimensionality. I then copied, pasted, and grouped the patterns together to their respective sides/object (chest group or the lid group).

After this I then created some gold to fill the cursed chest of Cortes, but couldn't find all the pieces to fill it up due to those darned servants of the Black Pearl.

I then animated the treasure chest, spinning then opening, and closing, using key frames.
